Problems are Guidelines, not Stop Signs.
Big deal. You ran into a roadblock. You had something go wrong. Things didn’t work out the way you hoped. That’s the way the world works (and you already know this by the way).
We all seem to still believe we can have instant success. Instant gratification. Instant results. I hate to burst your bubble, but that’s not reality. Success takes time. Success takes failure. Success takes you falling on your face over and over again. Success is reserved for the strong-willed; for those who are willing to persevere in the face of adversity.
Are you prepared to take what life throws at you? Can you reposition yourself, your thoughts, your ideas, your emotions, when life tells you they aren’t working to your benefit?
We’re all going to hit roadblocks, stumbling blocks, challenges, obstacles, walls, etc. It’s the people who find a way over them, around them, or through them, that ultimately achieve their goals and dreams.
The next time something doesn’t work out the way you envisioned it, don’t get pissed off, don’t get disappointed, and certainly don’t give up.
Take a break, take a breath, think about how you could have approached that situation differently, and get back to the drawing board.
As Thomas Edison once said, “I have not failed. I've just found 10,000 ways that won't work.”
