Problems Create Opportunities
So, unless you have been stranded on a desert island, you may have noticed there is a virus going around. Corvid-19 is just getting started according to reports, how quickly will it be over is another question. So what to do while we are told to avoid travel, become subject to quarantine if we do leave our countries of residence and in some cases are banned from entering other countries altogether.
Is it a time to stop everything, or a time to look for solutions and opportunities to work with different talent, local talent? I would say that problems offer us opportunities to discover solutions. Certainly throughout my career as a photographer and video maker, problem solving plays an everyday role on set. It is a part of my job that I enjoy, how to deliver what my client wants.
We are currently restricted in our movement around the world, but it should not mean we are restricted in our creativity and production. Instead of flying folks around, it is an opportunity to approach local creative talent to work with. A chance to build new and fresh partnerships, to learn to effectively communicate with each other and continue to produce quality content for your clients without interruption.
The next few months will be testing times for everyone, and all businesses around the world without doubt. Some businesses will sadly not make it, we can help each other through this period though, and build some positivety in the creative community to work.
I am here in Taiwan and always happy to discuss any needs for photographic or video content creation. If you need your product photographing, then send it over to my studio and I will shoot it for you, we can hook up facetime so you can really see what is being done and make real time suggestions, we can even share screens easily. I can also head out around the island (taking care of course) and shoot on location should that be required. I am not the only locally based image making talent here, there could be another who would be the perfect fit for your project. What I am saying is, let’s not let this virus beat us or burden us anymore than it has to. Let us look for the opportunities that problems deliver to us.
Take care out there everyone, respect and support.
