The problem with work-life balance - part 2

The problem with work-life balance - part 2

Last week we talked about how the first and most important thing to look at when seeking to?improve work-life balance is examining how you are internalizing what is happening in your?world.

When we internalize more (or A LOT more) things as being negative than positive, it can often FEEL out of balance - even if it really isn’t.

How does this usually manifest itself?

Stress, lack of productivity, tiredness, irritability, etc…

We’ve all felt it before.

The good news is that you can change it - starting today.

If you find that you don’t like how you are internalizing - how do you change it?

The first step is to identify all of the things that are bugging you.

What tasks do you do that you don’t like?

What conversations stress you out?

What things do you say to yourself that disempower, disengage or distract you?

Once you identify these different areas, you can then do something about it.

What CAN I change? What WILL I change?

Do I really choose to keep allowing “this” to stress me out?

Many times we don’t even consider changing the things that are bothering us.

Or we feel that we can’t do anything about it.

But you always can.

You get to CREATE HOW YOU RELATE to everything in your world.

I take my clients through this process and it is amazing to see what happens.

They usually come to me with some level of feeling stressed, stuck, or just not happy overall and walk out the other side a very different person.

So much so, that other people comment on how different they are.

More relaxed.

Happier.

Smiling.

Creating the life they really want.

Rooting for you,

-David

Great share David! I agree that identifying our stressors can actually help us find a better balance between work and life.
