Is the Problem with Trusting Me, Or Trusting Yourself?

Is the Problem with Trusting Me, Or Trusting Yourself?

IS THE PROBLEM WITH TRUSTING ME, OR TRUSTING YOURSELF?

More often than not, as human beings, we become victims of self-sabotage. I’m not here to offer cardboard cut-out “motivational spiel”. But it’s occurred to me since offering a very exclusive (and very rewarding) franchise opportunity to aspiring property business owners, just how much we can stand in the way of our own success.?

Apparently, if a person has been through numerous bad experiences, rejections or “disappointments” in the past, something in their brain tells them that this is their “safe place”. And so, they subconsciously start seeking out discomfort - and even pain - because that’s what they’ve been inadvertently conditioned to.

I often wonder, when people criticise the work I do (despite its proven success and credibility) if this is mostly because they can’t imagine themselves succeeding in the same way. This makes me rethink how I choose to respond to such critics, as I understand that the problems usually lie with them - and not my business model.

I say this with the greatest respect and humility. Sometimes, you just need to accept when people aren’t ready to change their lives - in a positive way. Even if an obviously incredible opportunity is staring them right in the face.

So, rest assured, this isn’t another piece where I’ll pitch my franchise licence(s) to you like any other marketer. I feel we’re past that stage now - and you’re either ready? to believe in yourself, or you’re not.?

Can You See Yourself Becoming Successful?

Since meeting my good friend Chris Maughan of AES Events and more recently, I-PRAC, I’ve invested a lot into my “trust marketing strategy” with the rest of my team.

Luke Stays became I-PRAC accredited nearly two years ago, proving our commitment to guests, other industry operators and legitimate operations. Becoming I-PRAC Approved was no easy feat because the verification process is so meticulous; however, thanks to Chris, I truly believe in the importance of cementing trust within a hospitality brand - first and foremost.

For the same reason, we initiated our “Thank God it’s Monday” campaigns - spotlighting each of our team members from both our UK and Dubai offices. It’s important to me that our partners, guests and peers know exactly who they’re working with - rather than just seeing my face plastered all over social media. This again, leverages trust marketing and hopefully makes our brand that little bit more likeable.?

As a company, we constantly share “success stories” from our franchise partners on socials, via email sequences and my YouTube channel. If you swing over to my LinkedIn profile now, you’ll see my “Recommendations” are vast and honest - this is all in a bid to prove my credibility. I’ll be the first to admit that there’s a considered strategy behind all this - because we’re in business, after all.

As such, I will always work hard to guarantee trust between my audience and I; and ensure my team does the same. In any realm of life, this is what choices are determined against.?

Now that we have just a few of our 10 franchise licences left, I’m wondering why some aspiring property leaders are holding back.

Don’t get me wrong, the uptake and interest is certainly there - but I know there’s a small fraction of people who want to succeed in this industry with every fibre in their body; yet even after being presented with this opportunity, are sitting on the fence.

Forgive me if I’m projecting, I don’t claim to personally “know” the ins-and-outs of your psyche. But I can’t help but think if some of this is because after years of trying, and trying… and trying -you’re struggling to imagine yourself in a position of financial freedom and success?

They say being poor is hard. Well, being wealthy is no walk in the park either.

It requires a lot of mental work, acceptance, and self-belief. It’s a fight against the beast of imposter syndrome every day - and I say this because I've been there myself.?

Are You a Problem Finder??

Every man and his dog wants to be a “problem solver”. But the truth is, the majority of people are problem finders. Many a time, they’ll create a problem in their head and use that as a crutch to lean on - when trying to convince other people that success for them is “unattainable”.?

There is only so much motivation and encouragement a person can give you. Even a doctor can prescribe you with life-saving medicine; but at the end of the day, it’s up to you to take that pill and help yourself.

My franchise model, for those willing to put the hard work in, has been tried and tested several times. You only have to look at myself - a person who started building his empire in his 30’s, with no prior experience nor set qualifications - and is now in control of millions of pounds worth of property, across the world.?

The reason I’m offering these 10 exclusive licences is because I believe in inclusivity in our industry. To me, it isn’t fair that hundreds of talented entrepreneurs miss out every day, simply because of a lack of resources and direction. So, it made sense to offer a shorter-term contract for the next 10 people who sign up as one of our partners; and even take some of the burden off the fees (up to 75%).?

However, this also makes me realise that this leaves little room for people to make excuses. For problem finders, this is an uncomfortable place - as they’re desperate to look for reasons to not pursue a life-changing? journey, with little-to-zero risk upfront.?

This begs the question, does fear control many of us? Do we simply say things like “I want to be successful” out loud; but are afraid of whether we’ll be able to handle? it once we take that first step?

Is it all just words??

This Might Not be for You?

Nobody holds the right to tell another person how to live - no matter how much they’re revered and respected. So, I’m not going to feed you with any click-baity CTAs in this article nor tell you that this is something you need to do right now.?

These limited opportunities are not for those who sit on the fence; and those who do not believe they deserve success. My team and I will always be at hand to offer emotional support, guidance and resources - but we cannot make you believe that you deserve to “win”, if you cannot believe that for yourself.

I guess, the purpose of this article was to share a little perspective - as well as work through my own thoughts. Of course, I’d be delighted if you are to sign up for a franchise licence; but what’s more important to me right now, is that you have an honest conversation with yourself - and really think about what’s holding you back.?

Maybe, just maybe, you’ll find your answer a lot closer to home.

For those who are interested, we’re sharing more information about our last few franchise licences here. Please ensure that it’s something you truly want - and I’ll be personally waiting to back you up, all the way.

In the meantime, keep building and bettering -

Ryan.

You have a true gift young man. Your work should be seen by more people and I don’t know l if it’s because of algorithms because I’m very old and don’t know much about digital channels! But I do recognise quality when I see it. This is what we need to see more of on our screens. Your writing is deep, rejuvenating and emotionally moving and I feel you have much more to say and share. This is a phenomenal piece and it shows me the kind of deep thinker you are. Not just a leader but a visionary. All your articles make me feel that you are onto big things. I salute you my friend. Excellent article.?
