Problem Solver Extraordinaire!
I am an out of this world problem solver. This is not my opinion, rather this is something that everyone that has worked with me will tell you. I'd like to share a real world example of this capability.
Yesterday I had escaped my house for some much needed solitude. I took my book and my PSP and drove to a relatively empty parking lot close to some nature to be alone.
I was in the parking lot of a golf course reading with my windows down to enjoy some fresh air when 2 construction workers came to their cars parked beside me. I overheard one saying that he had locked his keys in his car and didn't know what he was going to do. I had a friend growing up that locked his keys in his car so frequently that I became adept at opening the door with a coat hanger so I offered to help if they could procure a wire coat hanger.
The one man came back with a coat hanger and I spent some time attempting to open the door, however as cars have changed dramatically since I was younger, my method was not working.
We decided to alter what we were doing and try and press the unlock button (power locks) with the coat hanger. I handed off the hanger to the other man as he works with his hands and I went around the other side to guide him or "be his eyes" since he could not see from his angle.
When I went around to the other side of the car I could see that it would not be possible to use the coat hanger to press anything as it was too flimsy. Then I noticed a water bottle on the seat with a loop attaching the lid. I suggested that we use the hanger to hook the bottle and swing it to generate enough force to hit the unlock button.
With teamwork and some persistence we were able to successfully unlock the car door by swinging the water bottle and hitting the unlock button!
The three of us cheered and did "elbow bumps" (damn Covid) to celebrate. The men asked my name and thanked me for helping them and I walked away with a sense of accomplishment after solving a difficult problem with brains and teamwork.
