The Problem With Being The Secret Weapon

The Problem With Being The Secret Weapon

Most of the time when you hear the term "secret weapon" it is shared in a positive light.?

In fact, many subject matter experts out there pride themselves on being the secret weapon of certain clients and markets.?

There's a certain level of prestige that comes with this title because it says that you are the reason the client is doing so well.

You're the thing that drives them forward and that idea of being that ace in the hole can feel really good.?

You may have even had instances where clients have said that you saved their business or that they couldn't have done it without you.?

All things that create good feelings and a sense of accomplishment.?

So what's the problem here??

It all sounds really good from the outside, right??

Well, if you're a secret weapon the unfortunate truth is....

YOU have to stay a secret.?

It simply doesn't work for you to be front and center because you are the one making the magic happen and magic only works if we don't see HOW the magic is happening.?

Now there are plenty of folks who prefer this.?

They want to be behind the curtain and they have no concern about whether or not people know that they are the creator of the idea or the writer of the words.?

BUT there are also plenty of folks who get that nagging feeling when they watch someone ascend that whispers:?

Why not ME??

It's at this point that some of these people work on breaking out on their own and stop being the secret weapon for someone else and start doing it for themselves.

?Recently I started looking at this phenomenon and asking the question why some people soar when they step out of someone's shadow while others stumble.?

How does the person who builds someone else's brand shift to building their own??

If you've ever been curious about this or have thought about building your own Thought Leadership later this month I'll be hosting a webinar that breaks down my discoveries.?

I'll be sharing what causes so many subject matter experts to live in the secret weapon position for so long and never take that leap.

?I'll also be sharing the missing pieces to that equation that lead to being seen as the wizard rather than the person behind the curtain.?

Most importantly I'll be doing some exercises in real-time with you to tap into a stronger, louder voice.?

You can sign up right HERE for free.?

As the weeks go on I will be adding more details to the workshop, but if you want to be there you can sign up this week.?

Also, there will be no replay as I will be working with a number of you live on the call.?

Lastly, once Zoom tells me I'm at capacity, it will just switch to a waitlist, so if you want to be there, I'd sign up today.?

Here's to making sure your greatest stuff is out in the world.?

Excelsior!?

P.S. I'll also be sharing the traps we get caught in that have us building other's businesses rather than our own and the exact psychology behind it. If you're a subject matter expert who hasn't yet started building your own thing, this will be very eye-opening. HERE's that link one?more time.?
