Pro-Health Lifestyles Gaining Traction

Pro-Health Lifestyles Gaining Traction

Longevity technologies, biohackers and new pro-health lifestyles are becoming more visible amongst the public mainstream. Two new notable films in this space are:

·?????? Longevity Hackers: about the latest in longevity technology and the pursuit to extend life.

·?????? Don’t Die: the Man who wants to live forever: about Bryan Johnson’s blueprint protocol to stay young.

While the idea of living forever remains provocative, there is more interest in living healthier whether it is restaurants offering healthier options and a larger variety of plant-based options, to being more conscious of those with gluten issues – it is representative of a broader evolution towards a personalized era of food.

The same with alcohol, as the youngest generation is opting out of alcohol poisoning and hangovers as part of the having fun package. They are instead opting for the zero proof spirits, non-alcoholic wines and mock-cocktails. The industry is responding as non-alcoholic alternative alcohol companies are on the rise. And in the glitz and glamour of fast moving Dubai, a new 100% alcohol free bar has opened – Drink Dry.

On the hospitality front, there are more longevity related spa offerings, one is Rose Bar in Ibiza which is part of Six Senses Hotels Resorts Spas wellness programs. This pivot towards health conscious hospitality offerings is also reflective in the market’s preferences towards longevity and wellness related retreats and vacations over the bar-hopping and partying kind.

The fitness space has also taken note of this cultural shift and they are starting to expand their offerings to include health check ups and wellness programs. One notable example of this is Equinox 's new longevity membership tier which comes at a $40,000 annual price tag. Gyms of all price points have taken note of this trend and have been reshaping their offering and value proposition to customers.

So what does that all mean for healthy aging protocols?

It means that the rising interest in healthy living and healthy lifestyles is creating many new diverse options for the health-conscious consumer and it means that everyone will be able to personalize their healthy aging protocol and pursue their own health self determination on their own terms. And that is a good thing for everyone!
