Private Sectors Urged To Support Universal Access To Water.

The minister for general duties in the office of the Prime Minister, Justine Kasule Lumumba, has emphasized the need for all stakeholders and the ministry of water and environment to reform policies to ensure universal access to water for all households.

According to hon.?Beatrice?Anywar Atim the minister?of state for?environment the ministry is operating at only 46% from its current budget cuts which has limited progress of the projects. Their call to action was made today during the water and environment 8th week event in Luzira.

Addressing the stakeholders during the water and environmental 8th week 2025, the secretary for general duties Justine Kasule Lumumba who represented the deputy speaker appreciated the ministry of water and environment for the work done to ensure safety of Ugandans.

With global demand for water projected to outpace population growth and climate change exacerbating water scarcity, stakeholders have been urged to work together to address this challenge noting that effective policy changes can help to achieve universal access of safe and affordable water.

In her speech she furthermore noticed that on the issue of Uganda still faces a safe water and sanitation challenge and called for intervention.
