Cerebras Systems Unveils the World’s Fastest AI Chip

What’s Happening: Cerebras Systems has unveiled their latest computer chip, the WSE-3, which they claim is the fastest chip on the planet for developing artificial intelligence. Cerebras says their new chip delivers 2x the performance of the WSE-2, previous world record-holder, at the same power draw and for the same price.

Cerebras Systems' Edge: Unlike other supercomputer architectures, Cerebras' wafer-sized chips put the power of multiple chips on a single wafer, making the training of large models simple and easy. Most chips are the size of a postage stamp, the WSE-3 is comparable to a dinner plate.

Artificial Intelligence Boom: Across both public and private markets, AI is fueling a boom in valuations. For example, Nvidia, another chip maker, recently broke Wall Street’s record for the largest single-day valuation increase in history, rallying 16% and adding $277 billion in market cap in a single day. For context that's nearly $100 billion more than the total market cap of rival Intel.

In the AI economy, if information is the new oil, chipmakers like Cerebras Systems are the oil rigs.

Turo Named One of the Top Potential IPOs to Watch in 2024

What’s Happening: Turo, the world’s largest peer-to-peer car sharing platform has been named one of top potential IPOs to watch in 2024 by Forbes. The outlet highlighted the companies novel service, scalability, and untapped potential of the car sharing market.

How Does Turo Work: Car rental services have often been cumbersome and expensive for consumers. Turo has created an innovative new model, responding to the car rental market's inefficiencies. Turo lets car owners rent out their vehicles, earning extra income while providing renters with more choices at lower prices. This flexible model offers a personalized rental experience, bypassing traditional limitations, and promotes efficient vehicle use, reducing the need for large fleets.

A Seismic Shift in Transportation: In 2021, transportation stood out as a significant household cost, with U.S. households spending approximately $11,000 each year on mobility, as reported by the U.S. Bureau of Transportation Statistics. Turo’s novel approach could sway more consumers to cash in on their vehicle by renting it to peers, and potentially make it easier for renters to not own a car at all.

Turo Has Filed an S-1: Turo filed its S-1 registration statement with the Securities and Exchange Commission on January 10, 2022. According to Turo’s S-1 filing, in 2023, Turo generated net revenue of $879.7 million representing 18% year-over-year growth due.
