March marked the 13th straight month for year-over-year increases in private aviation flight activity, according to Cincinnati-based research firm Argus International. In recent years, strong competition from private aviation companies, and the cutting of routes and number of flights with the airlines, has made commercial travel less and less appealing. According to one survey, the private charter industry grew by 3% from 2010 to 2015, with over 25,000 businesses using private charter services. Rising disposable income and corporate profit has helped boost demand. The survey also predicts that in the five years, individuals and businesses alike will increase their use of charter jets, as confidence in the economy rises again.
