Privacy in Peril: The Future of a Transparent, Self-Regulated Society
In the future, privacy will be a thing of the past. Every action we take—whether typing, clicking, uploading, or downloading—through any device connected to the internet, satellite, mobile networks, or similar emerging technologies, will expose us to a vast network of people: our friends, family, colleagues, employers, potential employers, regulators, shareholders, and communities. There will be no place to hide. Rewards and punishments will be assigned based on our actions.
This will create an ethical and sustainable world where individuals are self-regulated, self-disciplined, and guided by strong moral principles. People will be motivated by the desire to maintain a positive reputation and avoid negative consequences, refraining from wrongdoing for the sake of their own survival and prosperity.
