An outcry to #politicians to take action now.
?For more than a decade Big Tech and National States has been harvesting personal data and widely abused it for many different purposes.
The main one has been digital marketing, by now you should know just how bad brands like Facebook and Google has been abusing personal data with the purpose to deliver ads and earn more money by collecting, abusing and manipulating their users based on the illegal procedures.
Some companies have been combining this system of abuse of personal data to attempt to manipulate elections, as seen in elections in the US in the last 2 presidential campaigns, as seen with the Cambridge Analytics scandal in the 2018 Presidential Election.
National States has been the target from other National States for years now, but on the same time National States has also widely been taking part in the systematic abuse of their citizens data.
Add to that that some National States have systematically been harvesting data through “3rd party” apps as widely seen in apps from Russia and China in various apps from simple ones that modify your face to look old, while stealing all your images and videos and data, to video streaming Social Media channels, none mentioned, none forgotten.
The US isn’t doing much better, you could say it’s the counterpart, on a different level and with a much wider range of data harvesting capabilities, and Yes, I get it we live in a insecure world, but there HAS to be limitations and protections for EVERYONE on the planet.
Collecting GPS + IP Data covers all location-based tracking in very high detail, but when its combined with access to all information of when images and videos has been done including meta data, combined with the possibility to abuse the images to map massive data and movement of people including information collection on state-level for massive surveillance and tracking purposes.
Human rights MUST include the right to not be tracked, online or offline, as an individual – We NEED to prevent citizens data is abused in ongoing conflicts between National States and abused by Big Tech for profits.
Let me highlight 10 key parameters to consider and open up the debate with a greater view of what needs to come together and what preconditions are factored in.
1.??????Data collection today is based on information that can lead to the tracking of individuals which includes: IP address (all static IP addresses are a violation of GDPR, Compliance etc.), GPS Coordinates (tracks all people) amongst many other data sources, but let’s focus on IP and GPS first.
2.??????We need to prevent the tracking of IP and GPS data from everyone except in specific required situations under law, as with KYC (identification when opening an account on any financial service using a wallet).

3.??????When you do a KYC, you will need to document your identity - and that’s fair enough.
4.??????When Blockchain Policy is adopted widely in all National States it will be a standard requirement to do KYC.
5.??????Financial movements will still be tracked to prevent funding of terrorism and avoidance of tax payments et. al.
6.??????To prevent abuse of data we need to segregate data layers: Step 1 is using a zero Knowledge ID layer Blockchain, like Concordium which we use for AesirX - once IP and GPS data is removed from the data sources of collection and collection is moved to 1st party, there can be no abuse (AesirX 1st-party server is Open Source and Free ).
7.??????App Stores, owned by Big Tech, needs to implement real security and transparency, making deals with National States and allowing systematic abuse of their user’s data, to earn more money it not ok.
8.??????As work is globalized (due to demand) and online payments for work can come from anywhere in the world, instantly (banking monopoly is already gone, only policy and standards missing now) it will be near-impossible to track and collect taxes based on work, and in some parts of the world – and in some constitutions…. – it’s not allowed to tax the labor of one’s own hands.
9.??????National States will be moving to land-based taxes, Private or Commercial, as that is the only future-proof method of ensuring the financial foundation for National States, and also the only source that National States will fully be able to control access to and tax collection.
10.??Company and Organizational data are still OK to track and use, same goes for behavioral and event data you collect and own 1st party, both for web sites, e commerce solutions and apps, stop giving them your customers data, it’s not OK.
I have been fighting the Privacy First fight for over a decade now, for many years almost alone as the awareness of what is going on has been very low, I hope as more people find out how systematically they have been abused by Big Tech and National States they step up and make it clear that we want a Decentralized world where Human Rights include Digital rights and the right not to be tracked.
A special mention to the European Union and Margrethe Vestager for a decade of hard work to establish the political foundation and policy for tech people like us to step up and help to ensure that everyone is protected, but to the rest of the worlds politcians and also to the European Union, who can do more, i have a plead:
Dear Politicians, please do your job, please protect the people, please do it now.
Yours Sincerly
