Under this law, media companies using AI to collect user data for content personalization must obtain explicit consent and provide clear, user-friendly disclosures about how data will be used. However, the challenge for AI-powered media platforms in India remains to strike a balance between personalization and the requirement for transparency and consent.

Data breaches are a growing concern in India, particularly with AI systems that rely on aggregating vast datasets to function effectively.
