WALKATHON to benefit the
“Anthroposophical Prison Outreach”
?
So many men and women leave our prisons angry, without new skills and without any belief in themselves that they can honestly succeed to achieve the American dream. I remember when I first began my executive recruiting career over 30 years ago. I was recovering from a prior business failure. I not only lost my business, but my?home and my career. I really didn’t know what to do. I was angry and disappointed with what had happened. I had failed my family.
?
At the time, my wife, Mary and I,?had been studying the Spiritual Science Lectures and books of Rudolf Steiner. It was through these continuing studies that Mary was confident she could earn our living, giving me the time, I needed to find a new career. She began courses in Early Childhood Education and became a kindergarten teacher, first in rented home?home and then at a Waldorf School. During this time, we continued our studies, THE SAME STUDIES OFFERED THROUGH APO (Anthroposophical Prison Outreach).
?
We both became more positive and began?to understand the connection between inner development and living in the physical world. After months of searching I was hired as a recruiter. To this day I attribute much of our success to a new outlook and balanced attitude about life which I attribute to the ideas espoused in Steiner’s study of man (anthroposophy). I had to get over my anger and believe that I could succeed in life after my failure. This is the mission and the hope that APO is carrying forth to those incarcerated, helping them over come their anger and giving them belief in themselves.

So, I’m asking you now if you, like myself, have been fortunate to find some measure of success and happiness in your life, then it’s time to “pass it forward.” I challenge you to make whatever donation you can to APO. Your gift is a lump sum payment (not per mile contribution). Please give what you are able! Donate by going to the following site:

“APO has helped me to control myself and be more reflective. I am more positive, I don’t hate?like I used to.?I present myself to others better with more confidence. I try to use?patience, understanding and thought instead of violence or shutting out. I am not as bitter as I?was and it dissipates more every day.
