Recent years have witnessed movements that have opened our eyes to the importance of safeguarding the rights and dignity of individuals in the workplace. #MeToo gave voices to previously unheard people and their experiences. Time's Up led to conversations about eliminating gender-based inequality within the workplace. These have culminated in serious efforts to create platforms where individuals can voice their concerns, especially against misconduct like sexual harassment.

At Sambodhi, we firmly believe an organization's true character is reflected in how its employees are treated. Our core agenda ensures that every employee is entitled to equal opportunities, free from harassment and discrimination. For around two decades, we have been committed to cultivating a safe and comfortable environment for our employees. This unwavering commitment has helped us champion the Prevention of Sexual Harassment (POSH) Act.?

Empowering Through Inclusivity

Our dedication to inclusivity goes beyond just words. We hold regular training sessions to enhance our organization's commitment to preventing any acts of misconduct. Furthermore, with our internal meetings, we delve into ways to enhance our organization's diverse pool of employees and become more inclusive in the way we operate as an organization. These discussions also include conversations about how managers can eliminate workplace inequality and become trusted confidants for their team members.

In addressing workplace harassment, two approaches have dominated the discourse: the traditional zero-tolerance sexual harassment policy and the progressive approach. At Sambodhi, we are resolute in providing a platform for every employee, irrespective of gender, to freely express themselves and file sexual harassment complaints. However, our chosen approach is the latter, encompassing informal, formal, anonymous, and confidential stages. Maintaining the confidentiality of our employees in such matters remains paramount, and this approach not only supports our mission but also instils a sense of security among our team.

Our Stance to Support and Safety

An environment where employees are hesitant to voice concerns or reach out to superiors can never be sustained. Thus, we make sure that every employee, contract worker, consultant, trainee, vendor, and stakeholder feels supported and cared for. Our commitment was strengthened through the recent POSH training session on August 25, 2023. This session equipped our team members with knowledge about a policy that safeguards them, empowering them to stand up for themselves and others around them.?
