Prioritize Yourself: Uplifted Spirit

In looking for ways to make sure we remain on our gift-giving list I offered up some Mind and Body items to incorporate. Now I turn to those who help me to uplift my spirit. What came to mind with this was all the books that I have been ‘reading’ this year and what I am learning. I say ‘reading’ because I am finding my brain can be too tired to read so I have been doing audiobooks instead. With the onset of remote work, I find that audiobooks are a great way for me to not be tied to a screen all the time and still be productive.?As a note, this post includes affiliate links so you can use them as inspiration if you so desire.
Uplift Your Spirit
Here are a few of my favorite books from the year and why they’ve inspired me:
Two things that stick out for me from this reading is the idea that women tend to wait until their ideas are perfect before they share them leading to feedback that they should speak up more.? I see that so often!? The other thing I enjoyed was the Future Self visualization as a way to help address any self-doubt that creeps in.
Working with a lot of Job Seekers who experience Impostor Syndrome, I appreciate the research and case studies that were humorlessly shared in this book. The biggest and first nugget of wisdom I take from this is that to combat Impostor Syndrome we can begin by changing our definition of success or failure.? Success can often be code for ‘perfect.’?
This year I began revamping Sacred Time programs to include months-long options because change can be for a season by transformation can take longer.? This book recognizes the work of transformation is a deliberate process that means repeating our messages to help drive the message home.?
I see these as uplifting my spirit because seemingly insurmountable issues include an actionable way forward. These readings validate experiences I have witnessed so they help me to ensure the leaders I partner with feel ‘seen’ and heard and feel empowered to take action.?
What has lifted your Spirits this year?? Please share in the comments below.?
