2020 and 2021 were the years of transformation for organizations. HR was at the front seat playing a crucial role. While HR continues to face challenges and transform itself, HR would continue to support the leadership and businesses to transform.?
While the previous years – 2020 & 2021 were years of transformation, 2022 will be the year to ace the game further.
Hybrid Model of working:?In 2020, several organizations were working from home. 2021 was a year of experimenting with different working styles. One of the approaches was to work from the office and at home. The year 2022 will be to ace this hybrid style of working further.?
The hybrid working model is picking up faster than ever. It’s going to be a game-changer in attracting and retaining talent. HR needs to work around this more and more. We can see several new policies framed around this.?
Building new, critical skills & capabilities: The need for building new or critical skills will take the front seat. The focus would be on holistic capability building – technical and soft skills.?

Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI): There would be an increased focus on DEI initiatives. With talent joining the workforce from varied backgrounds and especially talent who took a break in their careers are looking to join the workplace, this initiative plays a key role. HR will be investing more time in designing a workplace focusing on DEI.
Employee well-being:?The focus would be on totality – both physical and mental well-being. HR needs to spend more time promoting mental health to relieve stress and burnout. This should get into the DNA of an organization.
Technology – It’s not HR Tech anymore, it is about workplace tech:?There is a need for looking at this holistically. Several organizations will adopt technology that will cover most functions – HR, Finance, Admin, IT Infra, assigning work. It will be a workplace tech rather than HR Tech or Finance Tech or any.?
Strengthening the current and future leadership:?Helping organizations and partnering with the current leaders in identifying and training future leaders will be one priority for HR while building the capability of current leaders.
To sum up, the biggest priority for HR would be to transform itself while helping organizations to meet their business needs. There would be a holistic approach.
