• Amazon is broadcasting the first-ever Black Friday football game this year, which will be even easier to stream for people who are hard of hearing and use cochlear implants—in February, the company made it possible to stream from their Fire TV product directly to the medical devices.
• Netflix made the inevitable decision to end its DVD rental service in September—for anyone planning on enjoying Planes, Trains and Automobiles or another Thanksgiving classic this year, you’ll have to stream it (unless you received it in your final DVD shipment which the company let subscribers keep).
• Just in time for the holiday shopping season, Microsoft acquired gaming giant Activision Blizzard last month in an almost $70 billion deal that brings favorites like Call of Duty under the Xbox umbrella.
