After working in the WPA he went on to study with both Hans Hoffman and S.W. Hayter at Atelier 17 in New York. Moy's work was Abstract Expressionist, even using color woodcut. Working in a combination of abstracted Surrealism and Abstract Expressionism Moy's work, though abstract in its composition, drew on the traditional calligraphic imagery of the Chinese language.
For this late abstract expressionist composition, 'Montego Bay', Moy again used his favorite printmaking medium, color woodcut. The artist's use of metallic inks shimmer and reflect the sparkle of the water and the sandy beaches.

Montego Bay is a beachfront resort in Jamaica and is the capital of St. James Parish on Jamaica's north coast. In 2017 Jamaica suffered damage from hurricanes Irma, Maria, and Grace. Moy's abstract image from 1968 bears a striking similarity to the projections of that hurricane. The composition can be viewed as a tranquil overview of a resort, or the horror of a destructive force of nature.
