The principles of the Dots Networking Theory

Building an important network or community is artificial and nothing natural about this. It does not mean that it does not require mutual empathy or feeling emotions of others. It means that you need to be able to attract or to be attracted by many people and this is rarely to be natural.

It is essential to know the dots networking theory to build an outstanding network.

Let me introduce you the principles of the dots networking theory:

1.    Building community = connecting dots

2.    One on One Networking = connecting 2 dots

3.    Hidden dots = behind a dot many dots (Know someone that someone else should know)

4.    Dot’s weight = reputation + back links that it allows

5.    Dot’s attractivity = interactions (own interactions + interactions induced by others)

How it works?

The 3 first bullets from dots network theory will help you to understand the architecture of your network when the two remaining bullets will help you to understand the value of the dots. Emotion & mutual interest will be the pulses to make value from your dots’ network.

Those dots that you have chosen, and have connected with, will create everything around you and will create the results that you have. In many ways it is like your childhood puzzle that by connecting images and dots, the outline of the big picture is revealed. It will increase your ability to associate ideas to find your way to deeply understand your business in the broad perspective to find new opportunities and solutions.

I would like to end this article by Steve Jobs’s famous quote:

“You can’t connect the dots looking forward; you can only connect them looking backwards. So you have to trust that the dots will somehow connect in your future. You have to trust in something — your gut, destiny, life, karma, whatever. This approach has never let me down, and it has made all the difference in my life.”

Steve Jobs

When he pronounced those words in his famous Standford graduation speech, not sure that he thought about Networking however I find that it is applicable too to Dots Networking Theory too.

I hope this will be helpful to find your own dots and make value from networking dots.

Networking is like connecting active puzzles that match each other to achieve a big picture that generates value adding of more than a vision with a common purpose. Networking was done in the past, is done in the present and will continue to be done in the future. Artificial intelligence is an effective expansion of the human intelligence with some acceleration.
