The Principle of Mediocrity is wrong
My holiday message for everyone:
It is not our biological bodies, including the color of people's skin, different cultures, or preferences, that make us special. It is our minds. They might be the only place in the universe capable of such accomplishments. Nothing else matters this much. Every single human is special beyond words.

The Principle of Mediocrity states that there is nothing special about life. We (animals, bacteria, plants, fungi) are just a bunch of atoms obeying the laws of quantum mechanics and decaying with entropy. This is completely true. Life, as a replicator that uses its environment, is nothing special, but it's far from typical in our Universe.
As life's complexity increased due to adaptive forces from evolution, suddenly these hairless monkeys appeared in the picture. And this changed everything forever.
The brain of this chemical scum is organised in such a way that allows for the emergence of consciousness. This is where we differ from anything typical in the entire Universe.
Our brains are universal computing machines capable of creating knowledge. No other known entity is capable of universal explanations that constitute the underlying fabric of our reality. The capacity to alter any environment to our favor and create technology is unique to us in such a way that makes every one of us scarcely unbelievable miracles.

The individual mind really is a collective and ancient mind, everything is intertwined and correlated, an action has an effect on the entire system on a smaller or larger scale. Incredible everything that many minds together have imagined and created in this world. In the end we are all looking for the same thing, there is this special magic that unites our consciousnesses and drives us to continue, searching, creating and revealing the mysteries that surround us. Life is this insignificant and ephemeral piece of time in space-time and at the same time it is everything. For some reason we had to coincide with certain souls in this space and time.
