Princess Dress - an important ingredient of life

"I WANT TO WEAR MY PRINCESS DRESS" screamed my 4 & a half year old daughter while getting ready for "school" (due to this pandemic our dining table unfortunately has become her school, much like what we had thought of her room which has practically become my office - again due to the pandemic). Now what is this "princess dress"? It is her name for any of the party wear that she has & the one she was pointing to today was her dress for her 4th birthday. A pink frock/gown of sorts ( even after 8 years of marriage & 4.5 years with daughter I fail to name them accurately)

Her reaction post wearing the dress was worth recording ( unfortunately I am not one of those parents who take their cameras out & record each of such escapades - I prefer cherishing them, than recording them). The elegance of her walk, the demeanor & the waves that we saw were eponymous to what an actual princess would do. At 4.5 years being/dressing up as princess is what she wants to achieve today.

Her happiness knows no bounds after wearing her princess dress. It is her happy place and she takes it all around the house with it. We all have our princess dress (irrespective of gender :-) ). During this pandemic, while working from home most of us have found our princess dress in the form of shorts & T-Shirts and occasionally donning a formal shirt with or without tie, while many others who I know still wear their work clothes to feel that they are in office ("the whole 9 yards").

Why is the princess dress important? Clothes help us from not being naked while working & also in video call, it also give us that confidence to face the world. There are people who will be better prepared for work in a clean pressed formal dress, than a casual at-the-top-of-the-wardrobe tee & shorts. While living & working in this virtual isolation the only one to boost us up is OURSELVES.

Whatever works for oneself, for some its a song, for others it could be their favorite tea cup/coffee mug, comfortable pillow or anything. Given the current situation and with only ourselves and a few lucky ones family around. Pandemic or normal situation we need a princess dress in life. It is nothing but a motivation, for some to wake up from bed, for others surviving in life! Have you found your princess dress yet?
