Can I just start out by saying that I love Prince William and Princess Kate, they are beautiful people inside and out. Despite all the drama around them they always manage to spread good vibes wherever they go.

We also appreciate seeing how much they truly care about the causes they're trying to promote. The next generation definitely wants to do things in a better way. Not just royalty - all the young people.

Doing Good Through Sustainable Food

So imagine what a nice surprise it was for the young people getting served by the Prince himself when they went to try out the The Earthshot Prize burgers.

Doing Good With Real Estate

This post was supposed to feature Francis Saele 's great share from the 纽约时报 : "A deal to build the city’s newest residential skyscraper includes an unusually high number of apartments for low-income renters, plus some set aside for survivors of 9/11.

This is another example of people trying to do things a better way and not the old way that is clearly no longer sustainable.

My Commentary

Unfortunately, none of these types of initiatives will bear any fruit until we understand human nature. Let me explain ...

There is a story about someone who tried to convince a wise man that man's nature could be changed. He said that even cats can be trained to be well- mannered and proved it by dressing them up as waiters to serve dishes of food. Everyone was so amazed until the wise man opened his tobacco box and let some mice free. Once the cats noticed the mice, all hell broke loose as you can imagine - they dropped their professional waiter act and ran like crazy after the mice. Because this is their nature, which proves the wise man right.

We are all locked inside our nature and think we can change it by doing some external things differently.

What am I trying to say? Though we all may have different attributes and skills, we were all given the same nature. We are all locked inside our nature and think we can change it by doing some external things differently. But that's not how the system works. If we really want to see change we need to learn about our basic nature - which is one and the same for every single human on the planet. Another name for it is the human ego.

Let's stop putting off the inevitable. Let's dedicate some quality time to getting to know ourselves properly. That doesn't mean we need to sift through every single thing a certain individual does or doesn't do. Not at all. But we do need need to talk about and become aware of these things in general. The more we air all this stuff out together, the better we're going to feel about ourselves - both as individuals and as a collective.

And then all these stunning and wonderful things we've invented to create a better way of life - a way of life that is in harmony with nature surrounding us - will generate the positive results we want. It all starts inside of us.
