Prince Rupert Update
Last week I was called to go out and get some shots for a client. It is a challenging time for me to get aerials in Prince Rupert right now, with no helicopters being available, and in this case I could not use my drone due to safety concerns. But you can't keep a good girl down! I called one of my favourite local pilots in town, Mike Cote at Ocean Pacific Air (https://oceanpacificair.ca/), and he made sure I could meet my client's needs.
A shot of my sweet ride :-)
Mclean's Shipyard has always been one of my favourite haunts. It was recently sold from the Mclean family to the Davis family. They have wonderful plans for the site. I am looking forward to see what they come up with for this legacy property!
Heading around the back side of Kaien Island this is a shot of the site prep at the back of Kaien Island. Interesting to see how fast all the work is coming along.
Shooting from Seaplane takes a bit more set up, so this is us coming up on Ridley Terminals as we get into position for our pass of our subject. Nice to see the rail cars in the foreground and the engine pulling through the dumper.
And a second shot... because I can, and because I think the stackers look cool! Coal is such a fantastic commodity to shoot /film.
Wonderful to see both docks full and loading!
This is the reason for the journey in the first place... this lovely vessel loading at Ridley Terminals.
(But I could not resist this grain vessel loading. Very beautiful to see the full holds of Canadian grain!)
Things have not slowed down on the construction of the new Fairview Ridley Corridor. Please see this link to read more about this exciting project. https://www.rupertport.com/construction-of-the-fairview-ridley-connector-corridor-reaches-project-milestone/
The work heading towards DP World.
In the distance DP World, BC Ferries from the mouth of the harbour. Of course with a sweet double stack CN train.
Mike and I head back around the back of Kaien Island to the Seaplane base. So we captured Tidal Coastal.
And Ray-Mont Logistics.
My short non-rain-day window was ending as we heading back to town. We flew over the Kristoff Trucking site, located on the right.
There is some more excavating on Watson Island. (We didn't fly over the new Pembina site this trip unfortunately)
This shot is for anyone that has never been to Prince Rupert! This is the main bridge that connects Prince Rupert, on Kaien Island, to the main land. I love the vastness of this shot.
This is a shot of our industrial park. In the foreground is Tidal Coastal Terminals.
Here is a shot of the north side of the industrial park with Wainwright Marine, Skeena Waste and recycling, etc.
This is the closing shot towards tuck inlet. Our beautiful island in the the Pacific is in full swing! Lots of positive and exciting news. To read more about what is happening in Prince Rupert please see this link.

4 年Lovely! I fall in love with the place every time I get to go. Has now been a while but looking forward to come soon. Thanks for sharing these beautiful pics.
Lonnie, great shots! I’m going to reach out in the near future as I’d like to purchase a couple of shots of Port Ed if you have them (looks like you do).
