??Breaking News from Amazon

Finally, the news you've been scrolling for.

If you’re not at Amazon Accelerate this week, it’s safe to say you’re missing out on some major official announcements from the Amazon team! Buy with Prime, Email Marketing, Multi-channel fulfillment… the list literally goes on and on. This is a very exciting week for brands with a DTC presence. Here’s our SparkNotes breakdown of what we’ve learned so far - stay tuned today and tomorrow as the event continues!?

Truly the biggest announcement from the event is Amazon’s new Tailored Audience beta.

Finally, brands have an Amazon tool focused on illuminating and Increasing Customer Lifetime Value through EMAIL! Amazon is giving sellers more access and visibility into email marketing metrics and audiences alike. According to the official press release:

"For the first time, sellers can now expand beyond brand followers when sending free marketing emails to reach their most loyal customers, such as repeat customers, recent customers, and high-spend customers. Amazon Customer Engagement’s Tailored Audiences also allows sellers to monitor the impact of their email marketing campaigns and customer engagement with performance and reporting metrics, such as open rate, click-through rates, emails delivered, opt-out rates, sales, and conversion."

Other programs Amazon emphasized:?

  • Buy with Prime - Increase DTC Conversion, Leverage New Advertising Opportunities?
  • Multi-Channel Fulfillment & Unbranded Packaging? - Use Amazon FBA inventory to Fulfill DTC Orders in non-Amazon Packaging
  • BOPIS - Enable customers to buy your products in Amazon’s online store and pickup in your store as fast as 90 minutes.
  • Premium A+ Content - Amazon shared that Basic A+ content on average improves a listing's conversion rate by 8.5%, but when sellers incorporated Amazon’s Premium A+ content, that number jumped to 20%! Sounds like a good reason to contact your local Listing Creative Gurus, no?
