Avoid Duplication of Pages
Unless you have proper redirections already set on your server, there is a very high possibility that you have multiple versions of URLs i.e. with WWW and without WWW, With HTTP and Without HTTPS. Using 301 redirects, using canonical tags and setting preferred versions in Google search console are simple ways to solve this problem.?
If you are an Ecommerce site, Duplication of pages could also occur due to Pagination. This issue can also be solved by using Canonical tags or robots.txt file, or no-index, no follow tags.?
If you are using a CMS like WordPress there is a very high possibility of duplicate pages being generated in the form of tags pages, category pages etc. In Such Cases Duplication issues could be solved by blocking such pages in robots.txt
If you have country wise versions of web pages but the content on them is the same, you can use Ahref Lang tags to avoid content duplication.?
Your website Speed is Critical
We have mentioned this many times in our earlier articles but it's important to highlight again since website speed is a ranking factor as well.?
It might not be possible in most cases to improve the speed beyond a certain limit based on how your website is developed.?
For example Wordpress sites and other CMS based sites have a lot of limitations. Focus should be on improving actual load time as much as possible. Website should load Ideally within 3-4 seconds.?
Don’t worry too much about the Google Speed Insights score. It Better to fix as many issues recommended by Google page speed insights tool.
Optimize your images without compromising on the quality. This can be done manually but If you are using a Content management system like WordPress or Magento and have a lot of images, you can use addons and plugins as well.?
There are a lot of free addons or plugins available on both Magento and WordPress for image optimization.
Minify CSS and JavaScript.?
Additionally deferring JavaScript and implementing lazy loading for images can also help.??
Choose a reliable server, if possible go for a dedicated server or VPS for best results. For small business and most b2b companies a reliable shared hosting should also work .
Configure the page speed module recommended by Google on your server. This is not possible in case of shared hosting.?
Use CDN or content delivery network for optimal website performance. Most of them like CloudFlare have free options as well with limited features.?
Using AMP to set up your pages for mobile devices can also help to improve your mobile speed drastically.?
