Pridometer: Measuring Everyday Life

How often do we take a moment to truly acknowledge the contributions others make to our lives?
It’s easy to focus on our achievements, our efforts, and what we bring to the table. But what about the invisible hands supporting us every step of the way?
From the maid who cleans our home to the delivery worker who ensures our essentials arrive on time, to colleagues and family members who lend their time and energy—every individual adds value to our lives.
Yet, how often do we pause to validate and appreciate them?
Instead, many of us get caught in the pride trap: emphasizing our own hard work, saying, “I made this happen,” while overlooking the team effort that made our success possible.
This tendency to focus on ourselves can create an imbalance in our relationships and diminish the value of collective contributions.
Imagine scaling this on a “Pridometer”:
The Prideometer isn’t just a tool for self-reflection; it’s a way to cultivate gratitude and humility. By consciously appreciating others, you build stronger relationships, reduce entitlement, and grow as a person.
Ask yourself: How balanced is my Pridometer today?
Start small—appreciate the little acts of kindness around you. You’ll not only make others feel valued but also transform your perspective, realizing how interconnected we all truly are.
Gratitude is the antidote to pride. Let’s use it generously.

1 个月Love this perspective, Bhairavi! It's so true that while gratitude is key, acknowledging the role of circumstances in shaping our experiences is important for growth and understanding. Your approach of daily reflection and analysis is powerful! ??

1 个月While it is a fact that gratitude is an antidote of pride, it is also a fact that situations are responsible for good or bad happening to you. The life should therefore be measured on daily basis as to what good and bad happened to you and analysis of it thoroughly.
