Pride in Inclusion: Celebrating a ChenMedder’s Passion for Camaraderie

Pride Month is not only celebrated in the U.S. but across the globe, promoting self-affirmation, dignity, equality, and increased visibility of LGBTQ+ community, including right here within our own ChenMed family. One very cherished member of our team is Yailier Milanes, a Nurse Practitioner at our Chen Senior Medical Center in Florida. His passion for serving others has been evident throughout his 2 years at ChenMed, where he has positively impacted his patients and colleagues, making sure they feel loved and included.

As a Nurse Practitioner, Yailier plays an essential role in our Clinical Operations team. He is responsible for conducting geriatric assessments, reviewing medical history, performing physical exams, treating patients, making physician referrals, and conducting follow-ups. Through his actions, Yailier has proven to be a valuable addition to his team. His commitment is echoed by his colleagues, who appreciate his excellent listening skills and his efforts to foster a positive work environment.

Yailier’s contributions extend beyond his professional duties. You’ll often find him bringing food to for staff members to make them feel more welcomed or organizing group activities for team building and fellowship. His colleague Brenda Martinez Otero, Center Clinical Manager, remarks, “He is always committed to his work and is a very happy person, he loves to celebrate the best of his co-workers.”

Beyond making his fellow co-workers feel included and welcomed, Yailier is cheering up his patient. Kierra Davis, Care Facilitator, shares a touching story: “Ms. Pearl Thurston was diagnosed with jaw cancer. From the moment he [Yailier] was aware, he has been providing around-the-clock care, ensuring she gets the treatment and support she needs.”

Margarita Gomez Prado, Front Desk Team Lead, adds, “Yailier is very passionate about what he does; he always goes above and beyond for his patients.” It’s this passion for kindness, inclusion, and community that make Yailier an invaluable member of our ChenMed family.
