How do you budget for the cost of professional development in an organization?? Is there a one size fits all amount for everyone?? Is it by team?? Is it by role?? Do you ensure it happens?? Or only if some topic of interest pops into the picture?
I don’t believe in a one and done professional development experience.
I don’t believe in professional development experiences that don’t include practicing what you’ve learned.
I don’t believe in professional development experiences housed in a PowerPoint presentation.
I believe you should be paying for three parts to a professional development experience.
You should pay for learning.? You should pay for application and action.? You should pay for reflection and reinforcement.
What have you paid for?
I would recommend paying for learning about the smaller moments of action and impact a leader can have in your organization.
Do smaller moments cost less?? No – they cost more if you don’t invest in helping leaders understand them.
I would recommend paying for learning that has equal application at work and in life away from the desk and screen. ?
Is application for both work and life a minor distinction? No – it’s a major miss in many cases that’s necessary for individual adoption and growth.
What are you paying for?? How is it being delivered?? How does the price tag compare to the product? What is the right result worth when it comes to professional development?
Want to shop around for the best value?? Stop looking for sales.? Stop looking for pre-packaged.
We will be your secret shopper.? We’ve shopped around.?
We know some professional development secrets.? It will only take a moment.
