Hello,
We’re excited to announce a host of new features and improvements in our latest Draftable Legal release v24.07, including our new Excel Redline comparison type, now available for preview.?
We’ve also made several improvements to ensure Draftable Legal is more reliable, flexible and easier to use for both administrators and end users.
Read on to find out more about the top new features and improvements in our latest release – Draftable Legal v24.07.
Highlights from the latest release:?
New comparison type: Excel Redline
Excel Redline is a new (preview) feature that allows users to compare Excel files and produce a redline output in an Excel (.xlsx) file. Users can see changes in values, formulas and formatting changes (such as column and row insertions and deletions) in detail.
You can access this preview feature by contacting your account executive or by emailing [email protected]. Our Product team will be collecting feedback on this preview feature to make additional improvements before releasing it to all Draftable users.
Next actions in the top ribbon menu
You can now find 'Next Actions' (e.g. open, save to DMS, email, print, copy to clipboard, etc) in the top ribbon menu of our Comparison Viewer.?
We are committed to ensuring Draftable Legal is easy to use without any extensive training, and this change ensures the next actions are easily seen and discovered by new users.
If you prefer, you can still use the Next Action menu on the right-hand side by selecting the next action arrow icon in the top right corner of the viewer.

Save outputs to iManage as a ‘Related’ file
Draftable iManage users now have greater flexibility when saving comparison outputs. You can save comparison outputs to iManage as a new file and then relate that file to an existing iManage file (such as the input files) all in one workflow.
Better reliability on a wider set of documents
We know users sometimes need to run comparisons of older documents with legacy document elements. To improve user experience, Draftable will now identify Word documents with these elements and advise users to update their document to a modern format for comparison.
If you’re experiencing reliability issues with PDF comparisons due to Microsoft Word's conversion process, you can request access to our preview of the Draftable Engine as an alternative for PDF to DOCX conversion.
As this is a preview feature, you can get access by contacting your account executive or by emailing [email protected].
Easier IT administration
We’ve made it easier for administrators of Draftable with several improvements including changing the release version numbering convention to a 'Year-Month-Version' (YY.MM.VV) format. This makes it more simple for administrators to identify the age of a version when administering Draftable for their organisation.
