Preventive Maintenance

Preventive Maintenance

As men, we know that preventive maintenance is a must. Our cars would cease to operate if we fail to take care of them. Our homes and businesses would fall apart if we fail to maintain them. Everything is subject to deterioration, therefore if we are to keep our lives up to par we must maintain them.

I watched this documentary recently called, “Life Without People.” The show gives you a play by play of what would happen to our world when man-kind is non-existent. The most interesting aspect of the show is the erosion and disintegration of our world without the hands of man maintaining it. The same is true for every area of our lives. The bottom line is this is we want something great we are going to have to create it and maintain it.

If you want a spiritual life that is dynamic and full of life, you're going to have to put in work to maintain it. If you want a business that thrives you going to have to create and maintain it. If you want a body that is healthy and agile you are going to have to create and maintain it. If you want a marriage that is full of intimacy and power you are going to have to create and maintain it. If you want children that love you and have a desire to be in your presence you are going to have to create and maintain it. Lastly, if you want a life that has awesome habits and routines guess what…..you are going to have to create and maintain it.

Everything falls apart when we fail to maintain it. So the question today is what area of your life is currently eroding and what preventive maintenance needs to be done. Here is the absolute truth, “nothing falls apart overnight”. Things take time to fall apart. These things happen little by little and day by day. We are either maintaining and or eroding by the decisions and action that we take.

Daily Challenge

Look at your life and ask yourself where is the erosion taking place? Is it in your inner being, money, physical body, authority, connection, and or time? What part of your IMPACT is suffering due to lack of maintenance? What are you going to do about it?

Fantastic article! Great wisdom in this example. Maintenance in key indeed.
