Disaster management team can play another role in the Deserts biggest threats like floods, because they know the places that are already affected by soil erosion and can affect our people through floods, so they have to be more vigilant in the times of heavy rains

Sustainable Operation and Maintenance (SOM) is key to secure Risk Management. Learning from "No Regret Measures". Deferred maintenance can be combined with long-term (5-10 years) routine maintenance. With urban dredging several pilot projects have been successfully initiated by ID Consultancy with a public - private partnership program. Demonstrating the Dutch experience in DRR management.
