With the impact of the global pandemic, mental health has sored, causing suicide rates, particularly men, to shift at a growing rate.

With the UK now on a national lockdown from Thursday, more suicides could happen.

The pandemic has caused mass unemployment in specific industries, with people's income affected and concerns over paying rent.

Further, people's finances could be the driver in causing an increase in additional suicides.

With the NHS already pushed to the limits, it would seem an almost impossible task to curb suicide for Men in the UK.

Answer:

Men should talk opening about their concerns with a friend or family relative in the first instance.

Just talking about your current work situation, for example, can lower the stress or the anxiety you feel.

Being afraid and scared of the future during the global pandemic is a natural human worry for many, so don't be scared you will be judged.

Knowing that you have actively taken the first steps to try and deal with your worries lowers the mind's emotional state you are currently in.

Even simple notions of getting a sheet of paper, and writing your thoughts down can alter your perception of how you feel at that moment.

You can also search on Google and find out what help there is out there or even reach out to your local church.

Having any thoughts of suicide is a concern for anybody's mental health, so please treat it by approaching someone or something to help you overcome this moment.

From a personal perspective, I have only ever had slight feelings of suicide twice in my life, and the first call of action for me was to seek help.

I have been through one heck of a childhood, yet here I am trying to give suicide prevention advice.

You name it, I have been through it, from sexual abuse to violent abusive.

And the important thing is when you have been through trauma like me or even going through something severe, not to hold onto the anger.

By reaching out to someone, you are starting the first steps to healing.

Now I am a Christian but do not want to sound like I am preaching in this article.

But as believers in Christ, we believe if you jump off a cliff, you go to hell.

Now let me tell you that hell does exist, and it's not supposed to be very nice.

You are meant to have a life of adventure, fun, tears, upset, anger, yet all towards being happy when the good things kick in.

Even in the bible, it states life is a battle, and I am not saying simply reading the bible is going to take away how you feel.

The first sign of recovery is to know that you are important and that someone in the world cares about you.

So please take some responsivity for your happiness and don't commit suicide.
