Press Release: Sector challengers join forces to reshape Australia’s energy network

It started with a handshake in the lobby of the New Delhi Marriott many years ago. Now Climate Connect Technologies and Tukio Intelligent Infrastructure are forging a partnership that stands to reshape the energy sector in Australia, and beyond. Sanand Sule, co-founder and CTO of Climate Connect, feels the partnership is a culmination of the trust built over many years collaborating on projects with Rob Ashdown of Tukio:

“The partnership gives Climate Connect the chance to apply all of our learnings in the field of solar and demand AI bots to the Australian grid. Building what we hope will be a blueprint high-performance and intelligent energy system”

Australia - as one of the most volatile, deregulated, and sophisticated energy markets - has significant renewable, and growing storage, penetration that needs to run in parallel with a lot of mission critical legacy infrastructure. Climate Connect’s proven AI forecasting will assist Tukio in managing the complexity of integrating all of this together.

Rob, Tukio co-founder and MD, says the partnership will build out the company’s AI-driven infrastructure system management engines, and insight capabilities:

“I’m grateful for the relationship we have with the Climate Connect team, and have a deep appreciation for their high-quality work. Our aim is to maximise system integrity at the lowest cost possible to the end consumer, and we cannot do that without best-in-class forecasting capabilities. This ensures rational decision making is applied in a transparent manner, whilst dealing with different levels of complexity”

Sanand is excited about the domain and experience Tukio brings to the partnership, and looks forward to taking the venture to successful new frontiers:

“Australia represents an exciting testing ground for national energy system innovation. One could say it’s a big high-tech test-bed. The exciting upshot being that it is comparable enough to emerging markets that solutions can be directly ported once proven”

Rob believes that the complement of skillsets the partnership offers will assist in solving fundamental challenges within the energy sector:

“We have a lot to do, and an incredible opportunity to do it – within Australia and beyond”

And Sanand sums up the feelings on both sides best:

“We’re both plucky challengers, stirring up our respective markets. Now the time, and opportunity has arrived for a full force team-up. Should be exciting times ahead”
