Nia Jovan Andrews, 34, Owner of Jones Publishing & Enterprises, LLC (JP&E) will be starting a blog, NiaTheIndependent.blogspot.com, addressing community, food, and politics. She took a hiatus to pour into and nurture her family, but the resurgence of her voice through this blog will serve as a cultural whip. If you’ve ever followed her you know she does not hold back, while loving on you like a big sister. The focus of the blog is to be engaged with the issues of today and share and report on them in a positive way that brings information and enjoyment to the audience. She will begin regular posts on Friday, September 1, 2017. Nia has written a number of articles in her magazine addressing issues that herself and other young adults face, like, “Manifested Behavior; Buried Issues” & “Building Healthy Unions” (Rebel Issue 2013) “Overcoming Rejection” & “Discerning Motives in Dating” (Unbox Me Issue 2014). She has also written a memoir that she pre-launched in 2014 that will be out next year (2019). She has a Master of Jurisprudence in Intellectual Property and a Bachelor of Arts degree in Journalism-Magazine Article Writing. She has served in her community as a mentor to young journalist and believe in the power of effective communication through written word.
