A Sunshine Coast generator set manufacturing business has secured a Commonwealth contract to manufacture and supply a fleet of 1,350 field power generator systems for the Australian Defence Forces.

Eniquest has been awarded a contract by the Commonwealth to deliver 1,350 rapid deployable field power generator systems over the next four years under Land8140 Tranche 1 acquisition program, with the first batch scheduled for delivery January 2023. With a contract worth $47.4 million, it is a significant investment by the Commonwealth and major contract for Eniquest, more than doubling it revenue and creating 25 to 30 new direct full-time jobs on the Sunshine Coast. It will also provide more than $12 million worth of subcontract work to other Queensland manufacturers of components. It will provide $5 million for construction for the Eniquest facility expansion at Bells Creek. In addition to the initial contract, Eniquest has also signed a contract for support through the contract and options for further buys which is expected to grow the overall contract value to well over $50M

“I am very proud to be given the opportunity to deliver a new fleet of rapid deployable generator systems to the Australian Defence Force. These generators will be the most advanced and the most robust systems in the world. They will be easy to use and maintain. We are always thinking of our soldiers in the field and how we can equip them better so they can better support us”, Don Pulver, founder and Managing Director for Eniquest announced”.

This contract comes after an intense effort by this small to medium enterprise in competing in a complex tender and then through tough negotiation with the Commonwealth. They have done it all by themselves without any government support whatso ever. No small feat for this Sunshine Coast business that works so hard to foster Australian manufacturing.

Electrical power is key for our modern-day defence forces. Its survival relies on highly reliable and easily deployable power. Considering the current situation in the Indo-Pacific Region and the Australian reliance on the offshore manufacturing Supply Chain, it is crucial to have Australian Sovereign Capability that can produce quality electrical power that will enhance and ensure the use of sophisticated electronic equipment on the battlefield. As all equipment such as communications, surveillance and supply, whether in the ‘fight or in support’ rely on the supply of electrical power. Without this power, Australia would not have a capable defence system.

“I am humbled to have the trust of the Commonwealth to deliver such an important asset. I am passionate about Australian made and truly believe that we have some of the smartest and most capable people in this country and we can make a difference if we believe in ourselves. I am proud of our Commonwealth for believing in Australia’s capabilities, enough so they are willing to give us a go”.

Eniquest is well experienced in providing critical Military power generating capabilities. It is an established manufacturer of the ADF’s field power distribution systems. It provides onboard electrical power and air-conditioning for the Bushmaster protected mobility vehicles for Australia, New Zealand, and Jamacia. It provides onboard power for trailer mounted satellite communications systems. It provides Military field power generators to the New Zealand defence force.?
