Preserving our Heritage!
Every year, the International Council on Monuments and Sites, in conjunction with the UNESCO celebrates World Heritage Day on the 18th of April. The secondary school celebrated World Heritage Day at DRS International School with a special morning assembly. The assembly was hosted by Grade X, who, used a poster presentation to highlight the need for people and communities across the world to recognize the rich role our cultural heritage, including historical sites and monuments play in shaping our sense of collective identity and history. The posters featured some of our most loved heritage sites and encouraged students to deepen their understanding of their significance.
The assembly also emphasized on the need to acknowledge our collective ownership and responsibility for maintaining and protecting these invaluable heritage sites and monuments. Our students walked away from the assembly with a sense of renewed pride in our country's heritage, as well as a sense of determination to preserve their richness and glory.
