#PresentOfWork. The 8 Archetypes

#PresentOfWork. The 8 Archetypes

It's curious how, after two years of living a remote and blended reality of knowledge-based work, we're still talking about the #FutureOfWork. And regardless of the Great Resignation wave and the GenZ leading the way towards purposeful work, we still talk about #NewWork.

After months of adaptation to the so called “new reality”, we realized that it was an illusory concept. We live under a permanent transformation that constantly defines the context and rules at the working environments. We even dare to call it a metamorphic (instead of new) reality.

According to that, we believe that there's (and always will be) a #PresentOfWork and it's based on how we, as humans, have been living and feeling it. So we jumped into this infinite reality to deep dive into the souls of the people that live in it decoding a set of 8 archetypes.

  • The Digital Enlightened: who found a hidden potential into the shadows of remoteness and is surprised by the advantages of digitalization such as transparency and direct communication across hierarchies. If in the past she would always prefer in-person meetings she/he now thinks twice.
  • The Phlegmatic: who lives work from a self-controlled point of view. Poker-Face on: perform your job, go home: be yourself.
  • The Diligent Responsible: who defends and takes care of clients and colleagues and never allows him/herself to fall into misunderstandings.
  • The Thankful: who started to appreciate the immateriality of knowledge-based work that can be done from almost everywhere.

  • The Disappointed: who misses the team spirit and solidarity of 'fighting in the same battle' that arouse during lockdowns.?
  • The Vulnerable: who accepted his/her human nature after realizing that he/she has both, a personal and a professional life.
  • The Training Wheels Addict: who always dreams about going back to the old ways.?
  • The New Kid on the Block: who’s meeting flesh and bones colleagues for the very first time.

Do you identify yourself with any of these archetypes?
