Employee Spotlight | A glimpse at our people and their journeys ??

Meet Hamsa Chandrasekar , a content marketer who initially leaned towards pursuing a career in corporate legal compliance but somehow ventured into the SaaS industry. Keep reading to learn how.

1. Tell us something about your background, Hamsa. What led you to work for Zoho?

My journey into business studies began with a commerce degree, where I excelled in extracurricular activities, including event organization and securing sponsorships.

Despite initially aiming for a career in corporate legal compliance, an internship at a tech startup led me to discover my passion for sales and marketing. My utilization of Zoho products in this role introduced me to the SaaS industry, ultimately leading me to my current position.

2. What is it that you do exactly? Explain what your work entails.

No two projects I've worked on have been the same! I sometimes feel like Chandler Bing when he tries to explain his job, but here's my best shot at explaining mine: I'm a content marketer in a multidisciplinary content team at Zoho. My job involves enhancing Zoho's outreach, brand presence, and user education for Zoho products.

?3. Did you always want to get into marketing?

Not really! While studying for my undergraduate degree and company secretary certification (aiming to be a corporate legal compliance officer), I dabbled in sales and marketing internships during summer breaks for fun and extra cash. Turns out, my natural aptitude was less “objection!” and more “conversion!”. I surely didn't expect a global crisis to lead to a career epiphany!

4. What would your advice be for an aspiring marketer? Any resources that you'd recommend?

Honestly, I'm still finding my way! I don't feel quite seasoned enough to dish out advice yet. My mentor always emphasizes a few key points: simple ideas often hit the mark, patience is vital, and jumping to conclusions gets you nowhere.

5. What do you love the most about your job?

I get to exercise my creative freedom and work on projects across different products, each one throwing unique challenges and growth opportunities my way. I get to see designers in their element, chat about product features with developers, and brainstorm out-there ideas with fellow marketers.

6. What's in the works for you right now? How excited are you about it?

Our team is currently crafting a unified video platform for Zoho that will allow customers to stream all user education content in one place. From the inception of the idea to witnessing each version evolve, I've been there every step of the way. Being in the zone processing all this is what excites me the most!

?7. One work tip that you swear by.

Drink water before lunch. This way, you'll eat optimally and avoid feeling sleepy in the afternoon. It also helps to stay curious and keep learning about your industry and customers.
