In the latest Inside FARFETCH, Director of Employer Brand and People Communications Andreia Gomes , explores how we support our people throughout their journey with us and beyond, launching our Alumni Programme, Never 2 Far. Because employee experience doesn't need to end at the exit interview, hear it from Andreia!

A career is not a linear path. It is made of several transitions, which may encompass changing industries, changing roles, changing businesses and also moving forward and returning to the places where you belong. Change is part of human nature, and if we think that embracing change as something that human beings sometimes fear, but often pursue, we will end up demystifying concepts like attrition or the process of leaving a job. And actually, my question is, do people really leave, or do they just move to explore something different??

There are several reasons why individuals are increasingly choosing non-linear career paths. The market is constantly changing, with new industries emerging and existing ones evolving. The gig economy has also made it possible for individuals to work on a project-by-project basis, which can be beneficial for those who crave variety in their work. If you think about all of these concepts, including pivot career, slash career, entrepreneurship, there are so many reasons why at some point moving from a job can become a desire.??

Companies that truly foster development and build strong workplace culture, see the exit moment as a natural pursuit of change, and create the conditions for people to thrive and develop in their career journeys. And if they end up leaving the business, they create a mechanism to help them stay connected!

And because I so often say that once a Farfetcher, you will never be far, we decided to build this alumni programme so that the employee experience doesn't end at the exit interview. We called it “NEVER 2 FAR”.

“NEVER 2 FAR” will enable our people to continue connected to us, providing opportunities for continued relationship building, for further development, for mentorship, for inspiration and for empowering those who have been part of our story to continue to play a role, sharing their experiences and the uniqueness of our culture! We also believe that the bonds created within the workplace with colleagues and managers are long-lasting social connections that can also be fostered through this programme. Leaving a company shouldn’t mean breaking bonds or all the powerful relationships created, and NEVER 2 FAR will give a little help to our former Farfetchers to stay connected. And who knows? They may find a way to come back in the shifts and turns of their careers!?

FAR FETCH - https://www.farfetch.com/ - DON'T BUY FROM THIS STORE! It's a SCAM! I don't often buy myself new clothing or accessories, but lately something good happened in my life and I decided to treat myself. I concluded that, out of all the things in the world, I'd like to have a brown Salvatore Ferragamo belt. I could only find the model that I liked on farfetch.com. so, I ordered it from there. It wasn't cheap, but hey! #treatyoself. Around 2 weeks later I received a notification that my order is ready at the pickup point. I rushed to collect the package. It looked intact. Little did I know, inside the package was a little red box and inside the box... NO BELT! Just very expensive AIR! Definitely not what I ordered! I raised this immediately with this so-called store and a couple of days later customer service informed me that they cannot make the refund because on their side everything is fine - the item was sent. Check mate, Greg! You don't have your belt, you don't have your money, and you wasted your time. "Thank you for shopping with us!" So, the message to potential customers of farfetch.com - go somewhere else! Don't allow to get yourself played like I did! Cheers!
