Be present with your presence

Over the past few weeks, I have had an incredible opportunity to delve deeply and uncover a few simple ways to teach mindfulness to my students.

5 simple daily mindfulness practices for you to try

  1. Mindful Breathing: Take a few moments throughout the day to focus on your breath. Pause, inhale deeply, exhale slowly, and notice the sensation of your breath. This helps ground you in the present moment.
  2. Gratitude Journaling: Dedicate time each day to write down things you're grateful for. This practice shifts your focus to the present, appreciating the blessings in your life.
  3. Active Listening: When engaging in conversations, practice active listening. Focus entirely on the person speaking without distractions, allowing your presence to enrich the interaction.
  4. Mindful Walking: While walking, pay attention to each step, the sensation of your feet touching the ground, and the surroundings. Engage your senses to fully experience the present moment.
  5. Moment of Stillness: Take short breaks to pause and be present. Close your eyes, take a deep breath, and feel your presence in the moment. This helps re-center your focus amid daily activities.

These techniques foster mindfulness, leading to inner peace and joy.
