If you're like most people, you've probably been to a presentation where the speaker has included testimonials. And if you're anything like me, you've probably found yourself thinking, "Why on earth are they wasting time showing us this? We didn't come here to watch a commercial!"
Well, it turns out that there is actually some science behind why testimonials can be effective in presentations. Think about it: when you're considering making a purchase, what holds more weight - an ad that tells you how great a product is, or a testimonial from a satisfied customer? People influence people!
People buy from people
Who doesn't read reviews/testimonials before making any purchase? Social proof is so critical, especially in the eCommerce industry. People buy from people. Add some human touch to your products.
It will drive more conversions, and boost your revenue. If you are trying to close a deal with a lead or trying to get more leads. Some testimonials from your previous clients would be the catalyst to make everything happen.?
What makes your service or product stand out among competitors? It's the testimonial!? It convinces other people to give it a try. It's word of mouth.
1. Achieved Goals
Use testimonials to show that your products or services have helped real people achieve their goals. This is a great way to build trust with your audience.
2. Benefits
Use testimonials to illustrate the benefits of your products or services. This can help people see how your offerings can improve their lives.
3. What makes you unique
Use testimonials to illustrate what makes your company or business unique. This can help you stand out from the competition.
"Nothing influences people more than a recommendation from a trusted friend. A trusted referral influences people more than the best broadcast message."
Mark Zuckerberg
There are four types of testimonials you can use to make your company or business presentations more impactful:

Customer Logos
If you're looking to add a touch of professionalism to your company presentation, one great way to do so is by incorporating customer logos. This will show your audience that you're credible and have happy customers who are willing to vouch for you. But make sure to get permission from the customer to use their logo first. So don't hesitate to ask for permission and add them to your next presentation.
Customer Testimonials & Quotes
Finally, add 2-3 quotes and testimonials from real named customers. People trust others far more than they trust businesses, which is why testimonials can be a powerful marketing and sales tool. A testimonial is a first-hand account of someone else's experience with your product or service.?
This is a quote if have received from one of my customers:
"Tom follows a customer oriented approach and has a pragmatic style of doing business, which makes life easier for his customers. I was impressed about the combination of Quality & Speed of delivery which matched one in one."
Patrick Vergult, Entrepreneur
How to gather customer quotes:
The recommendation function in LinkedIn can be a great way to gather positive customer reviews. After receiving a great recommendation, ask your customer if you can use it in your business presentations or website. This can help to build trust and credibility with potential new customers.
Testimonials are a major conversion booster.
They can be used in two ways: as social proof, or to add credibility to your message. When used effectively, testimonials can add credibility to your presentation and make your point more effective. So don't be afraid to use them!??
