Preparing for your brand photoshoot

No matter what business you are in or whether you are your business or you are part of a large company, creating a strong brand presence, is crucial to growing your business. It attracts the right clients to you, and grows awareness of your business. Your personal brand is what sets you apart from other comparable companies and what will keep people coming back to you again and again. There’s so much that goes into creating a winning personal brand, but your personal brand photographs should be at the forefront of your mind. Your ideal client will judge you within milliseconds whether you are the right person for them, and your visuals, i.e. your photographs will help or hinder this.

1. Have a pre-planning consultation with your chosen photographer… This should cover your story, your why, your brand mission and values, and who your ideal client is, and what you want them to see. What your service or product is and how it helps your ideal client.?These sessions generally will last between 45-60 minutes.
2. Ensure your chosen photographer has the same visual ideas as you... As part of your pre-planning consultation, ensure you do a visual exercise with your photographer to make sure you are both on the same page with regards to what your end images should look like. Discuss the feel, the tone, the light, the style that you would like and will help compliment your brand. 3. Look and feel your best... Consider hiring a professional hair/makeup artist for your personal brand photoshoot. This is something I can help with. A pro will be able to help you really shine (in a good way) in front of the camera and accentuate your best features, all while making sure you come across the way you want to. When it comes to wardrobe, choose an outfit that will make you feel confident and assist in telling the story of who you are. Make sure you do some self development or mindfulness on the morning of your shoot if this helps, such as watching or listening to something inspirational or motivational. Listen to your favourite music as you are getting ready (we can even play music during the shoot if you like.) It will really help with your energy and how you feel will come across in your images.?

Once you’ve done the homework and planning session to discover the story(ies) you’re trying to tell and the vision you’re striving to create, your personal brand photoshoot will fit right into place.
