Preparing for The Reset

Preparing for The Reset

What if you made July 1 the date of your business reset? What would that mean for you and your business? For me, a reset has been underway with an official reveal coming soon. In the meantime, I will share some of the drastic changes I have made and am making in my life and business.

  1. Restructuring the Team: We let go of our entire accounting team. It was a painful experience but something that we had to do to move forward in a healthier way. Part of that includes documenting our policies, procedures, and expectations more succinctly before we bring new team members on again.
  2. Prioritizing Mental Health: I started seeing a therapist. This is something I have wanted to do for years but avoided the task of searching through what I thought of as a maze to find a good one. So far, it is going really well, and I just cannot believe I waited so long. Every business owner should have a therapist, in my opinion.
  3. Vision for the Future: I am making decisions about how I want to show up and serve in my business and what the near and distant future should look like for the company.
  4. Strengthening Relationships: I am reimagining what I want my relationship with my husband to be now and as we think about eventually becoming empty nesters. It is so easy to get caught up in the work and forget ourselves. I no longer want to wait until we phase out of the business to focus on us; I want it now.
  5. Focusing on Health: My health, specifically my weight, has been a struggle these last few years. This area is a huge part of my radical reinvention. I have joined an exercise program and solicited an accountability partner, who I recently told that she’s taking her job so seriously that I may be able to fit in that bikini before the summer is over. Haha!
  6. Financial and Legacy Education: I am currently coordinating a 9-week Financial Peace University program at my church while going through a family legacy program with one of my colleagues. Even as an accountant, I am gaining so much renewed perspective from both. They are reminding me that my focus needs to be readjusted back to my core values with a focus on my legacy.
  7. Innovative Learning Experiences: I am thinking way out of the box for our next masterclass. It is truly going to be an experience for our attendees. I don’t know about you, but I get bored doing the same thing over and over, so I got this idea for this experience from one of my clients, and I am so excited to share it with you soon. Stay tuned for more to come!
