Preparing for a presentation
*sigh* presentations how dreadful was that word I believe most would relate if you don’t congratulations you win at life, they have been haunting us from our days in school to our work place it’s a cycle that never ends, however it must be done all you have to do is well prepared and follow these helpful steps:-
· Know your audience: You must be aware about the kind of people who will be attending your presentation, knowing the audience in advance will help you prepare the presentation as to meet their expectations.
· Note down the key points: Prepare the key points that you intend to say through the presentation, this will act as a good starting point and help you flesh out the presentation in detail.
· Focus on the main message: don’t deviate from the main message, keeping in mind the time constraints, it is always a good idea to present data and facts add in expert’s quotes and relate personal experiences to express better the point.
· Introduction and conclusion: Once your main message is ready, plan the introduction and conclusion of the presentation, remember, first impression is the last impression, so, the way you start will eventually determine whether you are able to capture the attention of your audience or not, likewise, the way you conclude your presentation is important as well. Your audience won't remember the entire presentation, therefore it helps to focus and effectively communicate the main ideas that will help the audience in remembering them.
· Rehearse the presentation: Rehearsing the presentation will help you master the content that you are about to present and gain confidence, It will also help you identify moments where you could mess up and improve.
