If you’re like most people, you don’t consciously prepare for each day. You grudgingly roll out of bed, shower, eat breakfast, and then head to work.
All your actions are automatic—and they come naturally after years of repetition. You don’t even have to think about what you will do next.
While routines can make our lives easier, they can also prevent us from preparing for what the day will bring.
Even though we might be able to foresee common challenges and come up with good ways to respond to them, we choose not to because we have fallen into the trap of not thinking.
So, try to break free from your routines. Spend time thinking about how you can engage your challenges, improve the day ahead of you, and stay motivated and inspired throughout.
Begin each day by answering the question as Ben did.
Benjamin Franklin, an incredible example of performance and productivity, begin his day by asking the question, “What good will I do today?”
How would your day be if you asked yourself the same question?
Here is what I suggest: Ask yourself, How will I make a difference today. Write down your answer next:
Ask yourself, What are my 3 goals for today? Write down your answer.
Focus only on these goals and get them done in this way; you’re making a conscious effort to get what’s important done.
Tonight, reflect and review your day by asking yourself What am I proud of what I did today?
When you change your mindset, you will change your results.
