Premier League Match Day 9 Preview

The most interesting clash of Premier League Match Day 9 will be Liverpool's clash against Manchester United on Sunday. United have made their worst start to a League season in more than 30-years. The clash between the two sides will be very different from their rivalries historically as Liverpool will go into the game as favourites so much so that a draw will be considered impressive for the Red Devils.

The current situation at Old Trafford is not entirely due to manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer. It is due to unrealistic expectations from fans and the board to achieve instant success. The Red Devils have also been unlucky with injuries. They have been unable to field the same side which beat Chelsea 4-0 to open the season due to various reasons, mainly injuries. Paul Pogba is expected to miss Sunday's game. United have looked devoid of ideas in midfield without the Frenchman.

Everton have a chance to break free from the relegation zone when they face off against West Ham on Saturday. Along with Solskjaer, Toffees boss Marco Silva is one of the most under-fire tacticians in the League and Everton may well soon bid adieu to him if results do not improve soon.

Tottenham Hotspur have the perfect chance to return to winnings ways when they face off against win-less Watford on Saturday. The Lilywhites have been woeful recently after having been comprehensively outplayed during their last two games in all competitions against the likes of Bayern Munich and Brighton respectively. They will have no excuses if they are unable to beat the Hornets who are in a bad state and the only side which has yet to record a victory so far this season.

Man City will be looking to return to winnings ways against Crystal Palace on Saturday after having slumped to a shock 2-0 defeat against Wolves two weeks ago. The Citizens head into the game eight points adrift of League leaders Liverpool and can ill-afford to drop points yet again. They have been playing some dazzling football but have been unlucky with injuries and a lack of consistency from players. Three players in particular who need to start delivering for Pep Guardiola's side are John Stones, Bernardo Silva and Benjamin Mendy.

Chelsea who are currently playing good football face off against unpredictable Newcastle United on Saturday. A victory for the Blues could take them into the top four if either Arsenal or Leicester City fail to win their respective games. The Blues will be favourites to defeat the Magpies who look like they will be relegation contenders this season. In Steve Bruce's sides favor though, their two League victories have come against Tottenham Hotspur and Manchester United so one can ill-afford to get the basics wrong against them.

Arsenal conclude Match Day nine with their fixture against Sheffield United on Monday night. The Gunners will be looking to consolidate their place in the top four by defeating the Blades and in good news for their fans, Alexandre Lacazette could be set to return to action during the game.
