Preliminary paintings attract the eye for new Hart show

One of our promotional ideas for my upcoming art show is to share the Preliminary painting sketches that make up the show. It offers people and chance to see the process used in this particular technique of painting that is as old as Leonardo Da Vinci himself.

One of my favorite works of Art is a preliminary oil 8x9 ft by Da Vinci title the adoration of the Magie that Leonardo painted for monks but never finished the work. It's so beautiful and liminous when you use burnt umber and wash it down with damar varnish. It becomes thin like water colour but has far better resonance and depth. Washes with oil paint produces images like coffee stains. After five decades of painting either I'm getting whacked out or something cool is happening. I see things in the washes and then I paint them in. I guess the same things happen when I carve stone. People will say I see a face or a wolf in the stone and if I do too I carve it in really fast.

One can carve a face in stone in about two minutes using the method I use. Stone is easier to carve than wood. Anyway these images and the album I set up on fb are our promotions, teasers for the show that is starting in Toronto and suppose to go to New York and Chicago. We will keep you posted and thank you for supporting my Art. I'm still painting on canvas by hand and carving stone the same way. See dinosaurs are still alive. I'm right here. I just happen to have a cell phone too. Maybe my sense of humour is still prevalent too. Typical artist huh? If you want information about my work or show you can pick up your phone and just ask me. 647-822-3238 . Thank you.
