A pregnant woman asked her husband, "Are you hoping for a boy or a girl?"
Her husband smiled and replied, "If it’s a boy, I’ll teach him math, take him out to play, and show him how to fish."
The wife asked, "And if it’s a girl…?"
Taking a deep breath, the husband said, "If it’s a girl, she won’t need me to teach her a thing."
"Why not?" the wife asked, intrigued.
He answered, "Because she’ll be the one teaching me—how to dress, how to eat, what to say or not to say. She’ll become like a second mother to me. She’ll see me as her hero, no matter what I do."
"Whenever I say ‘no’ to her, she’ll understand. She’ll measure her future husband by me. No matter her age, she’ll want my love, always my little girl."
"And if anyone ever hurts me, she won’t forgive them."
The wife smiled, "Are you saying your son wouldn’t be like this?"
The husband answered gently, "Oh, he might be, but he’ll learn. A daughter, though, is born with these qualities. It’s a blessing to be a father to a daughter."
With misty eyes, the wife added, "But she won’t stay with us forever..."
The husband hugged her and said, “Yes, but she’ll carry us in her heart, always. Daughters are angels, full of boundless love and care."
“Daughters aren’t given to just anyone; they’re sent to the homes God finds special.”
