Stomach bloating is something that we hear people talk about a lot.

There are many different reasons for bloating its not a simple thing to diagnose either. Let's be clear we aren't doctors, but we know a thing or two about the issue. If like many people you do have bloating and are sitting on the other end of this email telling yourself that a quick visit to the GP will fix the issue, I am here to tell you that it probably won't.

9/10 people that we help have visited the GP, described their issues, and the GP has told them they have irritable bowel syndrome and given them some tablets (usually Buscopan.)

The tablet is treating the symptoms by reducing cramps and reducing bloating. However, it simply is not treating the cause of the issue. Instead, it is covering it up and probably not reversing the damage being caused.

Our proven tips to reduce bloating and gut inflammation

1) Change your diet. In most cases, its the food habits we have that cause the gut to bloat (after all, it's the system that deals with our food.) The simplest but the most drastic fix is to change your diet radically. We find the Paleo diet the fastest way to remove 'MOST' foods causing the issues.

2) Help the gut to heal. Years of gut-irritating foods, alcohol, bad sleep and poor lifestyle habits create gut issues. We won't go into too much detail here, but it's safe to say that your stomach lining and the processes that live therein are sensitive and they need some help sometimes. Adding a high-quality probiotic into your diet can make all the difference (not Actimel or Yakult, rubbish) helping your healthy gut bacteria rebuild, and the gut flora balance begins replenishing.

3) Get a high-quality food intolerance test done. The above is a great way to get started, but it's all about the science. Exactly which foods are causing your gut the most damage? After you eat them, which foods cause you to sweat, become bloated, and feel like you need you to be within a few feet of the toilet?
